presents a broad range of the botanical works of Derek Norman. Works that include pen and black ink drawings and studies of the native flora of Illinois and the Midwest. In addition to watercolor and oil paintings that feature a broad range of botanical subjects.

Concurrent with a career in advertising and marketing Derek Norman found an avocation in drawing and painting wildflowers. Finally avocation became vocation so that today he is devoted to drawing and painting the native flora of Illinois and the Midwest (or anything else botanical/horticultural that catches his imagination).

This, together with doing his absolute best to further an appreciation of wildflowers and the importance of plants in our everyday lives.

Derek Norman was born and educated in England.
He and his wife, Ursel Norman, together with their many wildflowers live on Chicago’s North Shore.
